Dutch National Ballet and ISH Dance Collective will present ‘Swan Lake Remixed for ADE’ on Wednesday, October 21st, as part of the cultural opening programme of Amsterdam Dance Event 2026.
Taking place at Gashouder in Amsterdam, the production reinterprets ‘Swan Lake’ through a combination of classical ballet, hip-hop dance, electronic music, and digital art.
The performance brings together dancers from Dutch National Ballet and its Junior Company, performers from ISH Dance Collective, and guest dancers from different disciplines. The production explores themes of freedom, longing, temptation, and the tension between light and darkness.
Directed by Ernst Meisner, Director of Dutch National Ballet, and Marco Gerris, Artistic Director of ISH Dance Collective, the performance features music composed by Rik Ronner, lighting and video design by Ben Kreukniet, and costumes by Oliver Haller.
The cast includes principal dancers Salome Leverashvili, Timothy van Poucke, and Giorgi Potskhishvili, alongside performers from both companies and guest dancers including Zoë Greten, Ahmad Joudeh, and Sedrig Verwoert.
The project builds on previous collaborations between Dutch National Ballet and ISH Dance Collective, including ‘GRIMM’ and ‘Dorian’, which similarly brought classical ballet and hip-hop dance into dialogue.
‘Swan Lake Remixed for ADE’ forms part of the 30 YEARS ADE Icon Series, a programme marking three decades of Amsterdam Dance Event. The production also coincides with the tenth anniversary of the collaboration between Dutch National Ballet and ISH Dance Collective, as well as the 25th anniversary of creative production agency XSAGA.
