Visions of Light have released their new album, ‘Mycelium Bloom’, via NuNorthern Soul. The record follows their 2025 debut, ‘The Mandela Vortex’, and continues the trio’s exploration of Balearic, ambient, and dub influences.
Comprising Simon Sheldon, Muzka, and Dan Dub Lounge, the group combines downtempo rhythms, guitar textures, electronic effects, and psychedelic elements throughout the new collection.
The album opens with ‘Split The Scene’, an ambient dub composition built around deep bass, restrained percussion, and acidic synthesizer details. Elsewhere, ‘All The Best Things’ draws on early 1990s chillout influences, while ‘Holding Jupiter’ explores slower rhythms and layered guitar arrangements.
Other highlights include ‘B Town’, ‘Radiant Flux’, and ‘Perfect You’, the latter featuring words written and performed by Richard Dormer and flute contributions from Luis Vilca. The collection also includes ‘Let Go’, a slower composition centered on melodic textures.
The vinyl edition contains eight tracks, while the digital version expands the release to ten with the additions of ‘Saru’ and ‘Mirage’. The album follows the trio’s recent ‘Dedications’ EP, which featured Balearic dub interpretations of club classics.
