Technics has introduced the SL-1210MKX, a new professional direct-drive DJ turntable in its SL-1200 series. The model was unveiled at Pacific in Amsterdam during Amsterdam Dance Event 2026, marking 55 years of the turntable series.
Developed with input from DJs and sound engineers, the SL-1210MKX introduces a heavier, balanced chassis designed to improve resistance to external vibrations in clubs and live environments. Redesigned isolation feet provide additional stability and feedback isolation.
The turntable also features an extended pitch-control system with a dedicated ±4% range for more precise beatmatching and a ±50% range for wider tempo adjustments. Other specifications include a quieter reset switch, coreless direct-drive motor, adjustable start-up torque and brake speed, 78 rpm playback, reverse functionality, a polished silver tonearm, and a black finish.
Stefanie Baron, manager of Technics DJ Channel Europe at Panasonic Consumer Europe, commented: “The SL-1200 Series has earned its reputation through decades of real-world performance in clubs, on stage and in studios around the world. With the SL-1210MKX, we wanted to build on that legacy by working closely with professional DJs and sound technicians to better understand the challenges they face. The result is a turntable that delivers even greater stability, precision and creative freedom while staying true to the qualities that have made the SL-1200 an industry standard for more than five decades.”
The Technics SL-1210MKX will be available from January 2027, with a recommended retail price of US$ 1,699 or £1,299.
