Budakid has released ‘Dreams Stretched Beyond (The Remixes)’ through his own Flores label. The seven-track collection features reinterpretations from Gerd Janson, Guy J, Fort Romeau, Argia, Map.ache, Hernan Cattaneo, Kevin Di Serna, and Renato Cohen.
The release revisits material from the Dutch-born, Berlin-based producer’s debut album, ‘Dreams Stretched Beyond’, which arrived in July. Developed during a period of isolation in the Alps, the original project drew on two decades of personal experiences, combining songwriting, synthesizers, and melodic arrangements.
For the remix collection, each contributor approaches the original material from a different musical perspective.
Guy J reworks ‘Lovin’ Sun’ with gradually unfolding synthesizers, atmospheric vocals, and a restrained groove. Gerd Janson, founder of Running Back, brings Italo disco influences to ‘Endless’, introducing bouncing chords and driving percussion.
Spanish producer Argia delivers an atmospheric interpretation of ‘Hearts’, pairing mid-tempo rhythms with spacious vocals and bass. Meanwhile, Kann Records co-founder Map.ache revisits ‘Tannenheim’, balancing melodic house elements with more intimate textures.
Fort Romeau takes ‘Is No Ova’ into broken-beat territory, incorporating an acid line and layered vocals.
The collection also features three interpretations of ‘Lovin’ Sun’. Alongside Guy J, Argentine producers Hernan Cattaneo and Kevin Di Serna collaborate on a melodic reinterpretation, while Brazilian producer Renato Cohen explores deeper, more experimental territory.
Together, the remixes expand the musical direction of Budakid’s debut album, moving between progressive house, disco, melodic electronics, and deep tech.
